Description

Piparella (in the local dialect pipareddha) is a traditional dry biscuit from the Calabrian area of the Strait, made primarily with flour, almonds, honey and spices. It is known for its fragrance and crunchiness, which enhance the taste of almonds and the aroma of spices. This is due to its distinctive two-step preparation process and its ultra-thin slicing.
Piparella pairs perfectly with the passito wines of our region, but it can also be enjoyed for breakfast, at tea time, or on its own—whenever you feel the irresistible craving for something truly delicious during the day. Our piparella is made with high-quality Italian ingredients: from the flour (strictly Type 1, stone-milled), to the almonds from the Val di Noto, to local honey. We also offer a bergamot-flavoured version, featuring the iconic citrus fruit of Reggio Calabria, known worldwide.
